However, the aftermath of the Coronavirus Pandemic and the threat of climate change has led to ever-increasing calls for change. Advocates for economic growth argue that it rewards the hardworking and raises standards of living, yet others rebuke ‘trickle-down economics’ as dysfunctional and unfair; in the midst of these discussions, should the state primarily focus on economic equality or should growth remain its ultimate goal?
