Gerrard Daly, Physics

After a first degree in physics and maths, I worked on superconductivity and nuclear magnetic resonance at Oxford Instruments before deciding to pursue higher degrees, first in theoretical astrophysics, then in philosophy. I began tutoring as a flexible way of financing my graduate studies. However, I was surprised to discover a passion for teaching and have spent many happy years at Cherwell discussing the wonders of physics with students. I am something of an early music enthusiast, and I play renaissance and baroque lute. I have also practiced Chinese martial arts for many years.
